Dominica has removed a mandatory mask mandate which was put in place as the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe.
Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, said that his cabinet has decided to remove the mandate at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, “recognizing the trend with the numbers.”
“You are not obligated under law to wear a mask in the Commonwealth of Dominica,” Skerrit said.
However, those who wish to continue wearing a mask, for whatever reason, are free to do so and those working in the the food and beverage business should wear a mask when they are serving patrons.
“This will also become a permanent fixture in the food handler’s licenses and the operation of food and beverage enterprises in Dominica,” he stated.
