The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) said there are still some areas undergoing repairs as of Wednesday morning, following the passage of weather system Potential Tropical Cyclone #2.
In an update on Wednesday morning the company said crews are at several areas overseeing reports of outages, many of which were in Tobago.
“This is to advise that as at 6:00 AM we have approximately five areas out across the country. These reports would have come in after our final update at 11:00 PM last night. The areas are Williamsville, Orange Hill and Studley Park in Tobago, Sangre Chiquito and Mt Dor. Crews are responding to those reports at this time. The area with the most activity overnight was Tobago, with seven area outages.”
T&TEC said service centre operations have returned to normal as of Wednesday with opening hours from 8am to 3:45 pm.
The company said it’s deactivated its additional hotlines however their call centre numbers, 800-TTEC (8832) and 800-BULB (2852) remain operational.
T&TEC said it remains on alert as and continues to monitor weather advisories.
